Shane and I met in 2008 and later married in 2011. We had our first child Ethan in 2013 and we instantly fell in love with him. At the tender age of 2 and a half, Ethan was diagnosed with level 2 ASD and moderate GDD. We understand the challenges that most parents go through when receiving a diagnosis for the first time and so we made the conscious decision to dedicate our entire lives to Ethan’s ongoing development and to become passionate advocates for inclusion and acceptance in our community.
We were determined to find places that we could take Ethan to interact with other children and build friendships, to feel included, understood and not judged, and most of all, to find a place that he could grow with. We discovered We Rock The Spectrum, and immediately we knew that we had to bring this amazing and unique business to our community. Its mission of inclusion for ALL children really resonated with us and spoke volumes for what we as parents thrive for, for our own child.
Ethan’s journey is just beginning and regardless of what life throws at him, we are devoted to providing the three fundamentals – love, acceptance and inclusion! Opening our own WRTS gym will allow us to expand these fundamentals to other families and children just as unique and exceptional as our little man. We are looking forward to meeting some amazing kids and their families and making a difference in their lives, by bringing this truly inclusive place to our community.
